Submissions

We aim to empower underrepresented voices and raise awareness on socially relevant stories by bringing them to the screen!

SELECTION CRITERIA

We encourage anyone who has a powerful story to tell to submit their project to us for consideration. Please be advised that your short film must address an important social issue(s), ranging anywhere from gun violence, climate change, LGBTQ issues, discrimination, women’s rights, human rights to mental illness, and more. Only shorts that adhere to these criteria will be considered.

We champion diversity and inclusivity. Out of the films selected for the festival, our aim is for each short to be from a different country and with a 50/50 gender ratio of director representation.

The lucky winner of the Grand Jury Prize for Best Film will be announced during our Green Awards Closing Ceremony. In addition to a Green Award, the winner will get a dinner with YouthMundus organizer and leading international management, production and media consulting company, Inner Voice Artists. Everyone, this will be your chance to pitch your script(s) as well as yourself for potential management representation by IVA!

REQUIREMENTS & ELIGIBILITY

The short film must be in its final, completed version when you submit to us for consideration and must adhere to the selection of criteria listed above.

We accept short-length (under 60 minutes) narrative, documentary, animated and experimental films and we accept films.

All short films must be submitted using a password protected Vimeo link by using the form below. We will not review any non-password protected videos.

We accept films that have screened at other festivals prior to YouthMundus.

All non-English speaking shorts must have English subtitles.

The short films selected will be screened in the section determined most appropriate by the festival organizers, in their sole discretion.

March 15, 2019 at 12 PM EST - Early Deadline ($30 per film)

August 15, 2019 at 12 PM EST - Official Deadline ($50 per film)

October 15, 2019 at 12 PM EST - Late Deadline ($60 per film)
